For as long as I can remember, I have been creating some form of art.  I love learning and applying all different types of mediums to an art piece.  When I am not spending my free time with family or creating, I hunt for found objects and findings.

My husband and I own and run a Trucking Company out of our home, which allows me the flexibility to be an artist.  I am also blessed to have a studio also out of my home.  I have been married for over 20 years and have 3 awesome kids.  My passion is for the vintage look, but I am always learning and stretching myself to step outside of my box.

I just recently joined the blog world and am honored and looking forward to working with JoAnnA and the rest of the design team.

My passion for creating started as a young child with the sewing of doll dresses and the construction of handmade fabric dolls for resale.  My love for the vintage-look of tattered lace, rusted metal and antiqued embellishments is expressed in all of my fabric, assemblage, and collage work.

I am a mixed-media artist and national instructor residing in Richmond, Virginia.  For 3 years I owned and operated my own scrapbook store which led me to the world of altered art and mixed-media.  I love to create and have been blessed with the publication and display of several pieces of my artwork in various mixed-media publications and international art galleries.  I am honored to be a part of Joanna’s Design Team and to have the opportunity of working with her and the other Design Team members.

Izabella is a self-taught, outsider/mixed media/collage artist.  She lives in Las Vegas & works her magic in an art studio; she calls “the dungeon” (a wine cellar, converted to work space)

She has discovered mixed media art only within the last few years, so she is in the midst of discovery & experimentation, with new techniques…like a mad scientist in the dungeon!  Recently she was introduced to Photoshop, she madly adores altering her work digitally, which has endless possibilities for her artwork

When not busy creating art, she is busy at her computer uploading art to the many art groups she belongs to, she is a founding member of ZNE.   She has started flickr groups & a private NING art group called “Outsider Artists” the gathering place.  Also a public Ning group called Creative Souls a diverse array of creative people sharing their passion of the arts in different forms.

Spirituality, music, family and art friends are her daily inspirations.

I am a self taught, mixed media artist with a passion for expressing faith, authenticity, transparency and emotional healing through the layering of images, words, color and the deepest expressions of the heart and soul.

My artwork came to life in the process of working with survivors of sexual, physical and emotional abuse through collage therapy. I eventually began sharing and selling my work on Ebay, Etsy and in other local venues. I love to explore all kinds of mixed media, assemblage, collage, art blocks, altered art jewelry and whatever else I can dream up!

I am blessed to work from my studio at home and share life with my wonderfully supportive husband and three amazing sons as my creative endeavors grow and expand. My prayer is that my artistic musings would bless, encourage and inspire hope and healing!

Lesley Venable is a self taught mixed media, collage, assemblage artist that lives in Roanoke, Virginia with her wonderful husband, three dogs and two cats.  Being raised by a more traditional artist she was exposed to many fine art museums across the South and to the idea of “thinking outside of the box”.  After many years of pushing her artistic side into a corner it has, over the last several years, come forth with a flourish.  Lesley’s artwork has been published in the Artitude Zine, Somerset Gallery 2008, Somerset Weddings 4 and she was named as The Spirit of ZNE in July, 2007 by the ZNEart Online Group.  Lesley has taught an online class for altered Poker Chips for Helga on the ArtChix Studio website and will be teaching two classes at Art Is You in Connecticut in 2008.  Lesley loves all things vintage and feels it is her personal mission to rescue as many discarded cabinet cards, postcards and tintypes as she possibly can to incorporate into her creations.
