Jeanette Janson is a mixed
media artist who works in collage, assemblage and other
forms of altered art. She enjoys working with a variety
of materials including paper, vintage photographs &
fabrics. Jeanette finds most of the materials she uses
at auctions, collectible shows and tag sales. She loves
taking some seemingly useless item that has been cast
aside and recreating it into something unique and
unexpected.
“What I really love is to sit
in my studio, surrounded by all of this wonderful stuff
and let my imagination run wild. I see the history and
energy in these items and love to make them into
whimsical, playful pieces that will bring a smile to
someone’s face.”
Jeanette’s artwork has been
published in several national magazines including
Somerset Studio, Violet, & Artitude Zine. In 2003
Jeanette was commissioned by the City of Myrtle Beach to
design and paint a carousel horse for the “Carousel
Horses on Parade” project. Her work is currently for
sale at The Springmaid Art Museum in Myrtle Beach, SC as
well as online at “Etsy.”
Jeanette makes her home in the
upstate of South Carolina with her husband and 3 furry
friends.
